"The hotel is a bit old. It's great if you're looking to stay in a property with a historical aspect. Check-in was troubling. I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170. The room I stayed in was okay. The bathroom was small and the furniture was peeling. How you watch TV in the room was a little new which was appealing. "Hotel is a wonderful gem in the Gas Lamp District, a short walk to the bars and restaurants. The only negative is that it is a wonderful old building and sound proofing is not as good as it could be. Earplugs solve that. I would stay there again."

"The highlight of this place for us was the location - a very easy 5 minute walk to old town, and also Macy’s in the other direction. The room size is fine and as expected. There was a fridge and microwave which was a bonus we were not expecting. The air con worked well. Shower temperature and pressure were good. On the down side, the bathroom had a strong urine smell but since you couldn’t smell it in the main room, we didn’t bother reporting it as we had already made ourselves comfortable....

"Perfect location, comfortable hotel. My only criticism would be that the upholstery in the lobby furnishings seriously need to be cleaned or replaced. The room was small, but that is to be expected for a historic building. We had a great stay. "

"Really different location and property well kept if looking a little worn in places. Food very good. Service in the evening was excellent. Unfortunate noise coming from proximity to rail line not helpful if you are a light sleeper but bigger issue (and not the hotels fault) are the sea lions on the opposite which bark all night. The combination of a the sea lions and the trains throughout the night very unfortunate as rooms are by no way sound proof. "
