"Don't let the lobby fool you"
From the lobby one would expect the hotel to be a dump, but the rooms are renovated and rather nice. Only one working elevator that is so slow many times I took the stair instead of waiting.

"A wonderful stay!"
We stayed here for 4 nights. We have ourselves (2 adults) plus 3 children under 5. The hotel was quiet, accommodating, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, everything was nice and clean from the lobby to our room. When we arrived late, it was nice to find a playpen already set up for our youngest to sleep in. The staff always went above and beyond. Beds were firm, but actually VERY comfortable. Tub was fairly deep and quite wide. Rooms are modern and welcoming. It was very quiet, we barely heard anything inside or out the whole stay. Overall, we will go back. Happily.

"Nice hotel"
This hotel was prefect for what we were looking for. Nothing special...hallways were dated but lobby area was very nice. Bathroom was very small, room for one. beds were dated with a lean in the mattress. But overall room was very clean. I would stay there again.

"Plain but good value and worth booking"
This is plain lodging at its best. The staff are generally students who will do their utmost to make your stay a good one. It takes a bit to get used to the fact that you are staying in a residence but ask any of the staff at the front desk what you might need and they are happy to help. For the price you can't find better value for your stay in Calgary. Right at the University and walking distance to the football stadium and ball park. I was originally booked into a single room but when I arrived late in the evening there were only three bedroom dorms available but I had it all to myself. Their key system is a bit wonky but you get used to it quickly. Overall, a great stay for the money paid. Note that parking is extra ($8) and ask the staff as to where to park, there are a number of places but only one area for guests to the residence.

"Easy to access and great for visiting Calgary"
The hotel was very easy to find had great parking and really good for accessing all areas of Calgary. There were plenty good eating spots within a short walk of the hotel and staff were good at directing you there. The nearby Gtrain station was great for visiting Calgary and you could leave the car at the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the swimming pool was really good and quiet. This was a great choice for our visit and I would certainly use it again if visiting.

“The Big E,” also known as “Cowtown,” is home to a number of free and inexpensive attractions. Among these is: Prince’s Island Park, one of the most popular spots in town. Explore several hiking trails, fountains, and art structures throughout the grassy area. If you bring a raft and lifejacket, you can also paddle down the Bow River during the day. If you prefer a gentler ride, hike down to the calmer Elbow River. For things to do on land, head to Stephen Avenue Walk. Located downtown, this lively street often features music and art galleries along the route. One of the most popular activities in the city is July’s Stampede Week, the annual rodeo. Certain days are discounted for visitors, and children under the age of 6 can often get in free during the whole festival. Enjoy the famous pancake breakfasts before watching the biggest rodeo of the year.

When you’re finished with a long day of excitement, head back to your Calgary 2-star hotel and enjoy a sojourn into the hot tub, or a quick workout at the on-site gym. Enjoy free or low-cost parking, and call down to room service if you need a late-night snack.
