Here are just a few great places to visit in order to jump start your west-coast holidays this year.
Gastown
Visit this historical town filled with cobblestone streets and Victorian buildings. Stop by the Steam Clock on the hour to hear the clock’s unique chime.
Robson Square Ice Rink
This ice rink is nestled in downtown Vancouver, adjacent from the Pacific Centre Mall. Not only does the rink take on a beautiful glow at night, there is no charge to ice skate. If you don’t own your own pair of skates, they are available to rent.
Granville Island
Granville Island is the perfect place to visit when you are travelling with children. One way to reach the island is by the ferry, which we all know is a huge thrill to children.
Once you reach the island, visit the Public Market. There is a variety of shops, fresh produce, and food, it is guaranteed to be a hit for everyone.
Stanley Park
Take a walk, or a ride on a horse drawn carriage, through this 1,000 acre park. Just bundle up before you head out if travelling in the colder months. Make time to visit this park ads it truly is one of the best things to do in Vancouver.
Vancouver Aquarium
There is plenty to do and see at this the aquarium. Take your time to enjoy all of the sea life. Some of my favourites are the beluga whales, dolphins, and the jelly fish.
Grouse Mountain
Vancouver has some amazing places for skiing and snowboarding. One of the closest and family friendly mountains to visit is Grouse Mountain. Take in the scenery and keep an eye out for the local wild life. You can ride on the gondola up to the top of the mountain and enjoy an array of activities. They even offer zip lining during the winter!
Candy Town
If you are visiting Vancouver towards the end of November head on over to Yaletown to enjoy the Christmas festivities for FREE at their Candy Town festival. Ring in the Holidays with sleigh rides and carollers!

This museum is located on the University of British Columbia campus. Although there is a ton to see at the museum, one of its greatest features are the incredible totem poles.

Experience the Chinese culture first hand by stopping in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Grab some yummy food and take advantage of the Chinese New Year parades and festivities.
