What you can expect

Explore Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park travelling by bus. Witness epic scenes of nature in vast lakes, deep valleys, and volcanic geysers as your guide—trained in the ecology, geology, and history of the area—narrates your journey around the lower loop.

Begin your tour in Grand Teton National Park, driving north on a scenic road to Yellowstone's lower loop, seeing Lewis Canyon, Lewis River, and Lewis Lake—named for Meriwether Lewis, commander of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. End the morning with a bang at Old Faithful, watching the infamously predictable geyser erupt right on schedule, and enjoying lunch during some free time.

Start the afternoon at the vividly coloured Fountain Paint Pots near the Firehole River, coloured by volcanic activity forcing iron oxidation. Continue on to northern part of the loop, passing the 20-mile-long (32 km) Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, opening to one of the tallest waterfalls in the United States.

To complete the lower loop, pass through Hayden Valley to see the fields where bison spend the summer grazing. Make a stop at the historic Yellowstone Lake Hotel, a colonial revival structure perched on the edge of Yellowstone Lake. Your tour concludes with a return trip through Grand Teton Park back to the departure locations.
