A ROYAL WEDDING: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex - Extra dates 19 Jan - 17 Feb added

The wedding outfits of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be on display at Windsor Castle in a special exhibition until 6 January 2019 and between 19 January and 17 February.

The Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress was created by the British designer Clare Waight Keller, Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy. The Duchess chose Ms Waight Keller for her timeless and elegant aesthetic, and for the impeccable tailoring of her creations. The Duchess and Ms Waight Keller worked closely together on the design.

After checking out the town of Windsor itself, travel out to the prehistoric monoliths of Stonehenge, standing in solitary grandeur in the vast and empty Salisbury Plain. Learn about this 5,000-year-old structure, the mysteries surrounding its purposes and the secrets behind its ancient engineering and design.

Stop in the rural village of Lacock, where the half-timbered cottages and stone row houses transport you to medieval times. Head to a charming country pub to enjoy the atmosphere along with a hearty meal of classic English fare like fish and chips.

Finally, stop in the Georgian city of Bath, founded on natural hot springs in Roman times. Take in the elegant architecture on a comprehensive tour, visiting Bath Abbey and standing on Poultney Bridge to gaze down at the flowing waters of the River Avon. Then enjoy some free time to shop or experience afternoon tea and classical music at The Pump Room before your evening return to London.

Tour guide was excellent! Too bad that we didn’t have a lot of time to explore each place thoroughly but, that is to be expected when you are trying to explore three very vast places in only one day. Overall, we covered a lot in one day. Visiting the old pub at Lacock was interesting and being able to see the real houses where some of the Harry Potter movies was the cherry on top. (Those houses are private residences so don’t get any ideas of trespassing)😁

Travel tip: this is a highlight tour. Squeezing in 4 places in one day means you only get to spend an hour or less in each place. So if you want to just take pictures, imbibe the atmosphere and then go, this tour is fine. But if you want to take it easy and have lunch in the area, do a 2 place tour. 3 might still be ok but you won't enjoy the 4 places. That said, loved the guide and and driver.
