Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in Tacna at the time of your choice to begin this tour in which we will see the city from a historical point of view.
We will start with a visit to the Municipal Theatre, a building from 1870 that served as a field hospital during the famous Battle of the Alliance, which pitted the Peruvian army, supported by the Bolivians, against the Chilean troops in 1880.
Then we will go to the Casa de la Comisión, the place where the act of surrender of Tacna by the Chileans to Peru was signed after the battle. We will also visit the house of Francisco Antonio de Zela, one of the leaders of the independence of Peru.
We will pass by the house of Jorge Basadre Growman, chronicler of the history of Tacna, and then we will take the bus to the emblematic Campo de la Alianza.
In this very spot was where the fight between Peruvians and Chileans for the control of the city took place. We will enter the Museum of Weapons to understand the importance of this battle through the objects in the exhibition and, finally, we will visit the Campo Santo, where a marble cross with a poem by Jorge Basadre and Jimenez Borja stands.
After a three-hour tour, we will take you back to your hotel in Tacna.
