Your day starts with a morning departure from Tokyo, heading towards Oshino Hakkai — a traditional village known for its crystal-clear spring ponds, fed by Mt. Fuji's own snowmelt. Wander the thatched-roof streets, browse local shops, sample traditional snacks, and photograph Mt. Fuji framed by the village itself.

Next is Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, where you'll have free time to explore at your own pace. It's worth a stop at the nearby Lawson convenience store — its lakeside view of Mt. Fuji has made it one of the most photographed convenience stores in Japan — and don't miss trying the local soft-serve ice cream, a favourite among visitors to the area. Depending on your plan this is also where you'll board your included sightseeing cruise, setting sail from Appare Pier and passing under the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge and by Unoshima, the only island among the Fuji Five Lakes.

Your final stop is the Fujisan World Heritage Centre where interactive exhibits bring to life the cultural and natural significance of Japan's most iconic mountain — recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It's a fitting, reflective close to the day.
