Know before you book

  • Please note: For safety reasons, we do not recommend visiting Kyauktan Pagoda during the months of June to September, due to heavy rainfall.
  • Minimum 2 persons. Single travellers can book but subject to availability

What you can expect

You will depart the hotel at 09:00am together with your guide, heading west. The driving time is about one and a half hours until we reach Thanlyin, which was a base for the notorious Portuguese adventurer Philip De Brito during the late 16th and early 17th century. We will visit the Kyaik Khauk Pagoda, built on top of a hill and said to contain two Buddha hairs delivered to the site by the great sage himself. Afterwards, we will continue to the Kyauktan Pagoda, named the “Mid-River-Pagoda”, because of its location on a tiny island in the middle of the river.

Return to your hotel around 04:00pm.

Please note: For safety reasons, we do not recommend visiting Kyauktan Pagoda during the months of June to September, due to heavy rainfall.
