Know before you book

  • If you are leaving from Brazil, when you enter Argentina, you will need to pay a fee for an Eco touristic tax in Puerto Iguazu. Please make sure to keep your receipt in order to avoid being charged twice.
  • To enter Argentina, children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their biological or adoptive parents. If one of the parties is absent, it will be necessary to present an authorisation registered at a notary's office and signed by the father and the mother.
  • Be aware of the different options offered: Brazilian side only, Argentine side only and Both sides.

If you have selected to visit the Argentinean side you will travel across the border and to the Argentinean National Park and see the falls from up close. Most of the falls are on the Argentinean side, so as you travel through the walkways you will pass by numerous waterfalls falling just metres away from you. You will also take the train to get see the highest and most powerful falls up close on the Devil’s throat. After you disembark the train you will walk over the calm river and hear the roars of the falls become louder as the river into the massive waterfalls that extends both sides of the border.

If you are visiting the Brazilian side, you will travel to the Brazilian National Park and walk the walkways on the Brazilian side that provide a unique and panoramic view of all the falls on the Argentinean side. Make your way through the viewpoints along the river's Brazilian side, to admire stunning panoramas of the 295-foot (90-m) Devil’s Throat waterfall.You will feel the drizzle that erupts from the massive waterfalls around you. If you are willing, and time allows go on an optional speedboat tour that goes upstream and gets you close to the waterfalls. Do know that this is adrenaline filled and that you will get wet!.

Visiting the two sides is a very different experience, so do consider visiting both sides in one day. Know that you will have a great time with any pick that you make.

Whatever your choice is, get up close, grab your camera and capture the clouds of water, framed by dramatic cliffs and towering trees. Spend some time watching the thunderous rapids as they tumble over into rippling pools and inviting lagoons, and listen to stories about local folklore and legends related to the river.
