Originally from Portets, the Gaubert family, during the 18th century, made a fortune in the trade and armament of ships. Around 1796, the Merchant Gaubert wanted to enlarge his country house and make it a major wine -growing exploitation. He entrusted the work to the architect Gabriel Durand, collaborator of Victor Louis, who directed the construction of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux. Durand retains the original construction - also from the 18th century - enlarged and set up a park in which it builds a large set of outbuildings intended to ensure the march of the domain.
