Overview

This magnificent and still undiscovered peninsula is a famous wine empire and a gastronomic mecca for lovers of shellfish and various seafood specialities.
The climate and location of the Pelješac peninsula favour the growth of an abundance of medicinal and aromatic plants.
Besides being rich in forests with typical Mediterranean vegetation, there are large areas on the peninsula that are covered with olive groves and vineyards that produce virgin olive oil and high-quality red wine.
That's why a trip through its wine roads and olive groves, and their tastings, should be an essential attraction for all gourmets and wine lovers.

Activity itinerary

Peljesac Peninsula
  • 1h
A scenic drive along the Adriatic coast will take you from Dubrovnik to the Pelješac peninsula. In any direction you look, you will see a vineyard, sea, or both. The whole peninsula is scenic and untouched. It's a place to simply enjoy local life and products and the vibe is much calmer than in the city. Nature simply takes your breath away on each step of the way. Wines are truly tasty and authentic. Families nurture the long tradition of winemaking, olive growing, and fishing, and they're all passionate about it, which you will feel after the first conversation with a local person. Just go and enjoy good wine, good food and great people.
Putnikovic
  • 45m
Putnikovici – wine tasting and visit of wine museum A short ride from Ston will take you to Putnikovici, a small village known for vineyards and wineries! After the wine tasting you will visit the first wine museum on the peninsula opened in 2019. There you will have a glimpse into a world of hardworking peasants who wove their love and effort into every drop of wine they produced with their own hands. You will have a chance to see numerous interesting exhibits from the past times: the tools that were once used for the cultivation of soil and the vessels where the grapes were ground and the wine was stored by.
Drace
  • 1h
Drače - Oysters & Mussels gourmet experience A mix of the salty and fresh waters in a combination with the strong sea currents, makes the Bay of Mali Ston, situated on the Pelješac peninsula, a perfect location for growing oysters and mussels. It should be emphasised that this is one of the rare areas where the European oyster (Ostrea edulis) has survived, while throughout most parts of Europe it has been destroyed by a disease at the beginning of the last century. Here you will taste some fresh and fried oysters, mussels and, of course, more local wine.
Winery Dingac
  • 1h

Dingač vineyards – Wine, vineyard and food pairing The location of Dingač is considered to be one of the best locations in the world for planting vines. Rich in minerals from the soil, bathed in the sun and in the immediate vicinity of the sea makes it unique…. Wine produced from Plavac Mali is not only the best in the country, but also recognised and awarded around the world. In order to make this experience unique, our trip includes a stop in the magnificent vineyards of the Vicelić family, who produce their wines organically, and along a guided wine tasting they tell the storey of tradition, love for the work they do, and convey their feelings to everyone who enjoys tasting their wines and olive oil. Every sip of their organic wines comes combined with the homemade snacks typical for the autochthonous area and stunning views of the beautiful Adriatic Sea.
Ston
  • 1h
The medieval city of Ston is historically one of the most important cities in the Dubrovnik region. It is famous for its salt pans which were the main means of negotiation during the Dubrovnik Republic times. In the past, salt was treated and valued as much as gold is nowadays, and that is what made Ston of crucial importance for the whole Republic. To protect its salt pans, huge fortification walls around the city were built. These stone walls were the second longest in the world at the time of their building. Ston with its great historical value is certainly worth visiting and guests will enjoy some free time for individual activities in Ston. ??? They can have coffee, or the famous Ston cake called Makaruli, or just walk around narrow streets and discover the city.
