Lunch: we will all head to lunch at the Trattoria/Agriturismo where you can choose and you can pay independently as the lunch cost is not included in the tour.

Wow! As a guide I just love this first tour! First we visit the traditional Makers of Parmigiano Reggiano and take in all the cooking and ageing processes before having a big platter of freshly cut tasting! You will meet the makers and have a fabulous talk about the history and insider product and nutritional facts and a few myths! This tour never ceases to amaze me and really is the perfect start for our day!

We continue the theme of traditional hand-made (edible!) masterpieces! We tour the ageing house of the amazing Prosciutto di Parma ham. Cured in this almost sacred valley by the Mediterranean salt air stream. Tastings galore also follow. This venue is exclusive to FWT.

Country valley drive and Castle of Torrechiara photo call! What a great spot to stop off and often the fields are brimming with freshly grown produce adding to the sparkling aromatics of this valley... as it opens up into the mountains. Spectacular!

Trattoria/Agriturismo Lunch is all home cooked in the vineyard hills of Langhirano. All Parma speciality local traditional foods are served here and no where else in the world including Parma very own ravioli called Tortelli... bathed in parmigiano butter (yes butter made from the milk of the Cheese) and lashings of grated Parmesan... and Balsamico of course!! The wines are local ruby reds (Lambrusco Brut/Extra dry), still reds Barbera and Cabernet, Malvasia light whites sparkling (Spumante). Hmm jealous for you!! N
