What you can expect

Explore the historic city of Cebu, a major cultural centre in the Philippines, and the oldest city in the country. First visited by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, take a day to experience the city’s rich history and beautiful landmarks.

Our tour will begin with the city's most famous landmark, Magellan's Cross. This cross, now housed in a chapel, is said to have been planted by Ferdinand Magellan when he arrived in the Philippines.

Just a few steps away is the beautiful Basilica of the Holy Child. This Augustinian church was made a basilica in 1965 during the 400th year celebrations of Christianity in the Philippines.

The church, which was the first to be established in the islands, is built of hewn stone and features the country's oldest relic, the figure of the Holy Child of Cebu.

From here we will visit Fort San Pedro, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano labourers, followed by a stop at the Yap Ancestral House, a 300 hundred year old home that has been and converted into a showcasing a fantastic personal collection of antiques.

Enjoy a peaceful visit to the Cebu Taoist Temple, and take in the beautiful view of Cebu City and the nearby cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu. After the temple we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, proceed to Mactan Island through Marcelo Fernan Bridge, connecting bridge Cebu City and Mactan Island. Our first stop in Mactan will be the Lapu-Lapu shrine, a 20-meter bronze statue, built in honour of indigenous hero Datu Lapu-Lapu.

Finally, we visit a local guitar factory to see how traditional Philippine guitars are made, before dropping you back off at your hotel.
