We will meet at 10am at Katrine Wheelz Bike Hire at Trossachs Pier, Loch Katrine, where there is ample and affordable pay and display parking and public conveniences. We will be sized for our ebikes and, following a safety briefing, will set off at a leisurely pace.
Our 28-mile bike tour will follow the banks of Loch Katrine on a virtually traffic-free private road to the tiny village of Stronachlacher, before returning by the same route. Stronachlacher is a delightful and isolated village on the banks of Loch Katrine, where there is an optional stop for a picnic or lunch at the Pier Cafe (not included), located in the historic waiting room for the Steamship Sir Walter Scott.
There is a possible steep 10-mile extension to Inversnaid at Loch Lomond for very fit riders.
Your guide will incorporate stops along the way to share local folklore and legends, spot flora and fauna, pass on tales of historical figures, visit ancient graveyards and film locations, and explain feats of Victorian engineering. Some Scottish treats are available to try.
The tour takes approximately 4-5 hours and returns to Trossachs Pier.
