For a long time, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest structure in the world. Since it opened for the World’s Fair in 1889, over 250 million people have made the visit to this iconic landmark. Created by Gustave Eiffel, this amazing structure gives some of the best views you can find of Paris. As you make your virtual ascent up the Eiffel, your guide will bring the tales of the tower to life in vivid detail.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Victor Hugo’s seminal novel, contributed to the wide renown and interest in the Notre Dame Cathedral. With its gothic architecture, it is an example of the pioneering engineering that made its flying buttresses and rib vault possible. Many of these innovations were copied and recopied for cathedrals all around the world. Though the cathedral remains closed due to the tragic fire of 2019, the French Government plan on renovating the church to its pre-fire conditions in the next few years.
Paris, the City and Culture
On any tour of the City of Light, you must get a sense of the culture and art that make this city one of the most special in the world. Your guide will lead you through a virtual tour of the beautiful Latin Quarter and Montmartre, two of the most popular areas amongst the city’s youth. Not only that, these places have been hugely influential on world culture. The Latin Quarter was the place where Hemingway, Joyce and many other great writers crafted their masterpieces. And Montmartre was where many of the world’s great painters congregated, sitting in the various shops and cafes discussing the latest movements and techniques. It’s also the home of the Moulin Rouge.
