Description

Regarded as one of the most romantic cities in Germany, Heidelberg is a charming place to visit. Enjoy a leisurely tour with an expert guide through this delightfully cultural city, famous for its university, Baroque Old Town and 12th-century castle.

Discover the charms of Heidelberg for yourself. Many famous figures from history were also enchanted by the city – Mark Twain, Goethe and William Turner found inspiration here.

Make sure that you explore the castle, perched above the winding river with great views of the city. See the Great Heidelberg Tun, a large wine vat made of 130 oak trees with a holding capacity of 219,000 litres.

Head up to the immaculately preserved Old Town, where your guide shares anecdotes about Heidelberg that make the city come to life. Walk the cobbled streets lined with half-timbered merchant houses and Renaissance façades, or just sit back on the pleasant terrace of a local café and watch the world go by.

I was very disappointed with this tour. The place of course is beautiful but our guide has very basic English. It so hard to understand her. She called ruins - ring! She had a very limited knowledge of history . She was just an escort not a guide. We had visit to the castle listed on or tour but we actually did not go in! Hahaha! No time for that that the guide. To add to it one lady from the group and the whole ciach had to wait for her for 40 minutes . Why? Perhaps 10 minutes is a reasonable time but no 40 minutes. She could cone back by train herself. This delay ruined all my plans. I had to have. Lunch with my son at 15 pm but was late and he had to have it alone as he was leave g to Lichtenstein at 17 pm And I cane to Frankfurt to see my son! He was busy in the morning decided to take a Touri. But our planes fir lunch were ruined by bad decisions . I wound ask a full refund for this tote!

The tour guide went ahead of myself and certain individuals. He did not ensure he had all of the group as he was giving information. The tour of the castle was short and due to guide leaving, u had to move quickly. Lastly when he had to circle around to dropped off certain group members in a posh hotel, he dropped them off in front of the hotel while he dropped me off at the corner.

I liked city of Hidelburg and castle. But Gide was not a very good. We like more organized and informative person.
