Step into a world without sight and uncover a deeper understanding of your senses and surroundings. At the unique Dialogue in the Dark exhibition, you'll embark on a safe, guided journey through complete darkness, led by a blind or visually impaired host. Together with a small group of no more than eight participants, you’ll experience life in a way that challenges your perceptions, breaks down prejudices, and fosters connection beyond appearances.
A Journey Beyond Vision
Armed with a blind cane, navigate through everyday situations in an entirely non-visual way. Feel the crunch of gravel beneath your feet as you “stroll” through a park, listen to the sounds of a bustling city street as you cross it, or experience the textures and shapes of objects in your environment. Even the simplest activities, like buying something, become an exciting adventure filled with laughter and discovery.
Engage Your Senses
In the absence of sight, your other senses take centre stage. Hear the nuances of sound, feel textures more vividly, and find your bearings using touch and intuition. This immersive experience helps you see the world in a new light—without using your eyes.
The Dark Bar: Reflection and Connection
At the end of your tour, gather with your group and guides at the Dark Bar, a space to unwind, share impressions, and reflect on your experience over a drink. It’s the perfect opportunity to ask your guide any questions that arose during the tour and compare notes with fellow participants. The conversations here are often as eye-opening as the tour itself.
A New Perspective
As the 60-minute experience draws to a close, you’ll return to the well-lit foyer with more than just adjusted eyesight—you’ll carry a transformed perspective on the world, yourself, and the abilities of others. Dialogue in the Dark is more than an exhibition; it’s a journey of empathy, connection, and discovery that stays with you long after you’ve left.
Come and experience what it truly means to “see” the world differently.
