Description

At dawn, marvel at the awe-inspiring vista from one of the world's most beautiful and unique sunrise spots, Haleakala – known as the “House of the Sun” and the highest peak on the island of Maui. Enjoy breakfast at daybreak on this dormant volcano, towering at more than 10,000 feet (3,050 m) tall.

Atop the famous Haleakala Crater, enjoy sweeping views of the island. Savour a mountain-top breakfast with pastries, fruit and a hot cup of Maui-grown coffee, cocoa or tea while you watch an explosion of colour as the tropical sun slowly rises above the clouds. This rare opportunity to get a glimpse of daybreak in paradise from this altitude may be the highlight of your trip.

On the trip down the mountain, you will stop at a local favourite, Casanova's, to enjoy an Upcountry Island Breakfast. As you continue your journey, admire vibrant green pastures as well as farms of lavender, protea and flowers for leis. Then drive through the heart of Maui's agricultural hub, Hali'imaile, to see pineapples, sugar cane and other tropical crops on the way back to your hotel.

There was hot coffee with pastry provided at the mountain top, and there was a choice among 5 breakfast at an Italian restaurant in up country. Dress warm! bring blankets if you don’t have winter jacket. It’s about 20 degrees colder on mountain too than on sea level.
