Overview

We will leave from Gaeta, admiring the Aragonese Castle overlooking the sea. We will head towards the Regional Park of Monte Orlando, a place that will be able to offer surprising and enchanting sceneries. Unforgettable will be the glimpse of the cliffs, walls more than 80 metres high, which drop sheer into the sea and the imposing and evocative “Grotta del Turco”. At the extreme point of the promontory, the Sanctuary of Montagna Spaccata awaits us.
Legend has it that the split in the mountain was created by the death of Christ.
The characteristic chapel dedicated to the Most Holy Crucifix was built on a rock wedged between the walls of the fissure and still today it resists suspended over the deep blue sea.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before departure at the port to formalise boarding procedures. No delay to the scheduled departure will be tolerated
  • We will meet near the TIDE Bar located on the Caboto seafront. The jetty where the boat is moored at "Nautica Salemme" is located exactly in front of the Bar. Our captain will welcome you with all the information relating to the reservation. The area is full of car parks near the boat.
  • On request it is possible, for large groups, to organise the tour for more than 12 people up to 100 at the same time using several boats at our disposal or a single larger one. For such large groups, make individual reservations of 15 people (maximum bookable number) in sequence up to the desired number.
  • We recommend the experience in the morning compared to the afternoon one because the sea is always calmer. In fact, it can happen that in the afternoon the sea can get agitated in a short time due to mistral winds, and in this eventuality the Tour has to be cancelled with little notice for the guests.

Its wild soul immediately emerges from one feature: in fact, it cannot be reached on foot, not even through those secret paths that are often known only among residents. To visit it you have to get there exclusively by swimming, canoe or boat: its curious name would derive from the fact that "40 rowing" are necessary starting from the nearby landings; according to another version, however, the 40 oars would be a measure of its length. This cove is usually our favourite for swimming!
Via Pozzo del Diavolo

Thus we come to a small cavity on the coast, barely perceptible and little frequented... the Pozzo del Diavolo! In ancient times this must have been a small karst cavity formed over the millennia, favoured by marine erosion, but following the collapse of the top of the cave, this was given the sinister name of "Pozzo del Diavolo"
