Description

Enjoy a full-day tour exploring the scenic countryside towns of Siena and San Gimignano. Discover the awe-inspiring landscape of the Chianti region, enjoy lunch with wine tasting on a rural farm and end the day with a visit to the enchanting commune of Monteriggioni.

Leave Florence early in the morning and head south to San Gimignano, whose 14 ancient stone towers helped it achieve the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy some free time to soak up the medieval ambiance and admire its many squares, churches and narrow streets.

Hop back on the coach and enjoy a beautiful journey through the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, past vineyards, olive groves and tiny medieval hamlets that dot the landscape. Stop at a winery for a delightful lunch perfectly complemented by local vino.

After lunch, continue on to Siena, home of the famous Palio horse race. Meet a local guide and learn about the town’s fascinating history and culture. Discover the highlights of the historical centre, including Piazza del Campo, where the Palio is held.

End your journey with a self-guided tour of the medieval walled hill commune of Monteriggioni before heading back to Florence.

Very good tour. We had enough time for everything. The trip was very smooth, the guides and driver Antonio were great. Hassle free, highly recommended.

It is a fast paced day with a lot of things to see and do! The views at San Gimignano were amazing, especially if you climb the main tower! The food and wine at the vineyard for lunch was great and I really enjoyed Marco teaching us about the different things we were able to sample. He was very nice and even allowed us to try other things that we had questions about. In Siena we had a busy stop since it was the day before the horse race, but Rósa (our wonderful and energetic guide throughout the whole day) taught us a lot and made sure we saw many of the important sights within the beautiful walled city. The Duomo was especially gorgeous and the inside was extremely elaborate!

When you have limited time, this is an excellent tour to get into the Tuscan countryside. Bus was comfortable and plenty of free time.
