What you can expect
Embark on a thought-provoking day tour that explores the intricate history surrounding the events of October 7th, focusing on the Gaza Strip and its neighbouring areas. This tour aims to provide participants with a deep understanding of the historical context leading up to that day, the events themselves, and, most importantly, the themes of renewal, human connection, and hope. Rather than recounting the tragedies, this journey emphasises understanding and connecting with the communities that lived through these experiences.
The tour begins in Sderot, where we will start at a viewpoint for a historical overview of the region and an in-depth discussion of the significant events of October 7th. From there, we will visit the Police Station Memorial, where you will hear inspiring stories that highlight the resilience of the local community.
Next, we will visit a powerful site, the cemetery of vehicles used during the Nova event, symbolising both the immense losses and the unwavering human spirit. The tour will continue with a stop at the Nova Music Festival site, where you will learn about the tragic events that unfolded there and take a moment to reflect and honour the victims. A brief visit to a bomb shelter will also be included.
After the Nova site, we’ll head to a local kibbutz for a traditional communal lunch in the dining hall, a testament to the enduring spirit of the community.
The final stop of the tour will take you to Netiv HaAsara, a Moshav located along the northern border with the Gaza Strip. Here, a local resident will share personal accounts from October 7th and talk about the community’s efforts to rebuild and heal. You will visit the Netiv Ha’asara visitor centre, enjoy the viewpoint, and see the Path of Peace Mosaic art project next to the border. This stop will offer a deeper understanding of the ongoing challenges of living under threat, as well as the hopeful initiatives aimed at rebuilding and creating a better future.
Join us to witness first-hand the stories of resilience and hope that define this region.
