You will be picked up from Hambantota Harbour to embark on a memorable safari at Udawalawe National Park.
This half-day game drive offers a 3 to 4-hour safari experience. Udawalawe National Park was established to protect the area surrounding the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, providing a sanctuary for displaced wildlife. Located at the convergence of Sri Lanka's dry and wet regions, the park is particularly known for its Sri Lankan elephants, which can often be seen near the reservoir. Alongside elephants, the park is home to water buffalo, water monitor lizards, Sambar deer, monkeys, and occasionally leopards, making it a diverse ecosystem to explore.
After the safari, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Elephant Transits Home, an orphanage dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing abandoned baby elephants back into the wild. Witness the feeding sessions at 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 6 pm, where you can observe and support the conservation efforts.
After the visit, you'll return to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventures.
