Struma River is the most popular area for rafting in Bulgaria, with the longest track: between 8 and 12 kilometres, which is suitable for everyone: from beginners to already more experienced rafters. The rafting itself continues for about 2 hours, and once again – there are traces with different difficulties, so it will be up to you which option to choose. All the time, there will be a local instructor in your boat during the rafting. The rafting is done with highly professional local staff and under complete safety measures, so it is suitable for everyone and no previous experience is needed. You will travel approximately 2 hours to the rafting start point. The transfer between Struma river and Rila monastery is about 1 hours drive.
Rila Monastery

The Rila Monastery is one of the most preferred places to visit in the country, a UNESCO heritage site. At the monastery, you will have 1 hour to explore it. You will be provided with a free application with audio files for your smartphone, which you can use there to learn about its history and most interesting topics. Please have in mind that you will need an internet connection and headphones, in order to use them. The transport from the monastery back to Sofia is nearly 2 hours.
