Description

Tackle the volcanic slopes of Haleakala on the 2-wheeled adventure of a lifetime, pedalling your way down a challenging, 25-mile (41-km) route that makes this the longest guided bike tour on Maui. Cruise from 6,700 feet (2,042 m) down to sea level, passing through lavender fields and cowboy towns along the way.

Meet up with us at Lower Paia Park and snag a seat in the van for the ride up Haleakala, listening to engaging and entertaining commentary about the islands as you climb. Reach your high-altitude starting point for a quick safety briefing and take in the view before jumping on your bike. Spend the first 7 miles (11 km) twisting and turning through Haleakala Ranch via 19 switchbacks and hairpin turns.

From there, continue on another 10-mile (29-km) leg of the trail. Ride through the ranch and the picturesque town of Kula, passing through fragrant lavender fields and shaded eucalyptus forests, and arrive in the paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao. Hop off your bike and stretch your legs with a walk around town, and fuel up over a delicious lunch at the Makawao Garden Cafe. The final 8 miles (15 km) of your ride see you whizzing through sugarcane and pineapple fields on the way to the beach town of Paia, where you can reward yourself with a refreshing swim.

Matt took my kids and I on an unforgettable bike ride! Beautiful scenery, small (6) group, safe equipment, great lunch with the chickens in Makawao! I will definitely recommend Maui Bombers to anyone I know going there.

We had a great time!! This was a unique experience! Our guide, Matt had great, enthusiastic energy! We had a lot of fun, zipping around all these fun turns in paradise on Haleakala; what a beautiful backdrop. He had a great system and we felt safe in the process. We witnessed that our ride was much longer than the other groups from different companies, and we had a smaller, tight knit group with more personalized attention! We took the time to stop and pet these amazing horses on a ranch we passed and Matt was happy to take pictures of us to help us remember the fun adventures we had! We definitely recommend the this experience! Mahalo! Aloha!
