Description

Discover the iconic Maya city of Chichen Itza on a guided tour that gives you an incredible look at one of the grandest civilisations in the Americas. With privileged admission to help you skip the lines and a wealth of insight from your guide, you get a fresh appreciation for the land, the people, and the history behind this majestic site.

Get started with a ride from your hotel in a 16-seat Mercedes van that brings you to the Mayaland Hotel, your base for this excursion. Here, you can enjoy the swimming pool and admire the tropical botanical gardens before you step onto the grounds of Chichen Itza itself.

A private entrance lets you breeze past the lines and head directly to the archaeological site, where a certified tour guide takes you on a 2-hour tour to explore the secrets of the Mayan civilisation that built it. Learn the historical significance of all the most important structures around you, such as the Observatory, the Nunnery, La Iglesia, and Akab Dzib.

Once you’re shown the main plaza and some of the site's grandest structures, including the famous pyramid of the Temple of Kukulcan, you have time to discover the site on your own. Then you pay a visit to the spectacular Cenote Tsukan, one of the Yucatan's most famous cenote ponds. Cool off in the fresh, underground waters while you enjoy a stunning view of the cave and its natural skylight above you.

For lunch, you can choose among a variety of restaurants at the Mayaland Hotel offering Mexican, Yucatecan, or international cuisine, and enjoy traditional music and dance performances while you eat. Take some time to relax or do some more exploring ahead of your return ride to your hotel.

Excelent pickip service with a small group. Great and tasty lunch and opportunity to discover more about the Maya through the planetarium movie. However we joined a larger group for the site tour which though ver informative was also rushed with too lityle free time to explore the site which was also very busy and commercialised with souvenir stalls everywhere. Also i hadn't seen how much the park entrace fee was in the information which proved more than expected.Worthwhile but far from the better experience in Tikal

This was a fantastic trip. It is definitely worth it to pay a few extra dollars for the small group experience. Our guide Mauricio was great and had a great knowledge of the Mayan background and culture. Being able to enter through the Mayaland entrance instead of the general entrance was also great. Be sure to bring pesos in cash for your entrance fee because they give poor exchange rates. The Cenote was great as our group of 5 were the only ones there when we left.

Chichen Itza is a must-see. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Maya people, being himself a descendent of the Maya.
