What you can expect

Discover the iconic Maya city of Chichen Itza in the most comfortable conditions on a small group tour. With privileged, skip-the-line admission to the ruins, a wealth of insight from your specialised guide, plus a swim at Cenote Tsukan, you get a fresh appreciation for the land, the people, and the history behind one of the grandest civilisations in the Americas.

Get started with a comfortable ride from your hotel in a 16-seat Mercedes van that brings you straight to the Mayaland Hotel, a renowned resort in the Heart of Chichen Itza, your base for this excursion. Be welcomed in a special Hospitality Suite and admire the tropical botanical gardens before you step onto the grounds of Chichen Itza itself.

A private entrance lets you breeze past the lines and head directly to the archaeological site, where your certified guide takes you on a 2-hour tour to explore the secrets of the Mayan civilisation that built it. Learn the historical significance of all the most important structures around you, such as the Observatory, the Nunnery, La Iglesia, and Akab Dzib. Once you’re shown the main plaza and some of the site's grandest structures, including the famous pyramid of the Temple of Kukulcan, you have time to discover the site on your own.

Then head back to the Mayaland Hotel for lunch. You can choose among a variety of dishes, with Mexican, Yucatecan, or international cuisine. Also enjoy traditional Yucatec music and dance performances while you eat. Take some time to relax at the swimming pool, experience the on-site Mayan Planetarium, or do some more exploring before heading to the spectacular Cenote Tsukan. Cool off in the fresh, underground waters while you enjoy a stunning view of the cave and its natural skylight above you, before returning to your hotel in either Cancun, Riviera Maya, or Merida.

“Chichen Itza is our Home® - This tour is operated by Mayaland, a true pioneer in tourism in the Yucatan region, and a family enterprise since 1921. It was Mayaland’s founder, Don Fernando Barbachano Peón, who organised the first tour to Chichén Itzá in 1917. Today, with the same enthusiasm and expertise, Mayaland and the Barbachano family continue to show travellers the best in the Land of the Maya, and Chichen Itza in particular.
