One of the most beautiful and frequented paths of southern Sardinia is called Mines in the Blue, a challenging coastal path with breathtaking views that offers the opportunity to admire many natural geological monuments, as the highest rock of the Mediterranean Pan di Zucchero and the site of Grand Canal. Passing between its junipers and rocky outcrops very characteristic you reach the beach of Cala Domestica. An experience full of nature, but also archaeology that every lover of trekking can not miss!

The route is challenging, but does not have stretches of via ferrata with equipment: it is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.
Good physical preparation is required

Itinerary:
The meeting point will be the parking area of Cala Domestica beach, where you will meet the guide and you will from there you will reach together with your vehicle the starting point of the trekking route, since the path starts from Masua in the direction of Cala domestica.
The route, to be covered at a slow pace of about 7-8 hours of walking with short breaks if necessary, involves the passage on coastal areas sometimes exposed therefore not indicated on rainy days or those suffering from vertigo. The difference in altitude is important and develops mainly in the first part and at the beginning of the second. The ascent on the limestone in some very exposed points to be dealt with carefully presents in some stretches the need to keep to some safety steel cables anchored to the rock and an iron ladder to overcome to get to the most famous stretch for its beauty scenic and photos of ritual with the view of Sugar Loaf from above. The excursion continues with no less effort and with a continuous ups/downs that allows you to get to the Grand Canal allowing in the hottest periods opportunities for a bath and break for packed lunch. The route has no emergency exit points as almost completely not accessible by vehicles, including off-road vehicles.
