Overview

The Island of Baru is a coastal area located to the south, 45 minutes by boat or bus from the City of Cartagena.

It is famous for its beaches of fine white sand, transparent turquoise waters, surrounded by mangroves, underwater forests and multicoloured corals, which invite you to immerse yourself in this wonderful paradise.

Playa Blanca is the best known because it has a calm sea that resembles a swimming pool. It is for this reason that plankton can be seen at night. This last phenomenon illuminates Baru at night, thanks to the presence of an algae that provokes a reaction that gives rise to the water so that it shines with unique shades.

Activity itinerary

Pick up from the hotel from 7.30 am by hotels, depending on the area. The preferential areas will be Bocagrande, Laguito, Castillo Grande, Historic Centre. Otherwise, the meeting point will be at the Convention Centre on Arsenal Street at 7:45 a.m.

Operating schedule

Collection and meeting times will be from 7.30 am to 7.50 am. The return to the city of Cartagena from 7:30 pm and you will be at your pick-up point at 8:30 pm.

Playa Blanca

  • Upon arrival at Playa Blanca, at 10 am a speedboat will depart for Playa Tranquila

Playa tranquila

  • Stop n. 1
  • Upon arrival at Playa Tranquila you can use the facilities such as sun beds and chairs, lockers, a welcome fruit salad and lunch. In the afternoon after sunset the activity of the Plankton will be carried out.

Cartagena

  • Stop n. 2
  • It returns to the city from 7:30 pm. Finally arriving at approximately 8.30pm
