What you can expect

  • Escape the city for a day and immerse yourself in the serene landscapes, hidden treasures, and timeless traditions of Romania. This carefully curated full-day tour blends the natural charm of Prahova’s salt mine with the refined elegance of Romanian wine culture, offering a truly memorable journey for the senses.

Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Bucharest in the comfort of a modern transport at 06:45. As the urban landscape fades, find yourself surrounded by rolling hills, quaint villages, and the tranquil beauty of the Romanian countryside.

Our first destination is the Salina Prahova, one of the most spectacular underground salt mines in Eastern Europe. Carved deep into the earth, this otherworldly space invites you to explore vast salt galleries adorned with intricate sculptures, experience the healing microclimate of the mine’s air, and learn about centuries-old traditions of salt extraction that shaped the region’s history.

The Slănic Prahova Salt Mine, also known as the Unirea Mine, is the largest salt mine in Europe. Located in the town of Slănic, Prahova County, the mine is famous for its clean air and spectacular salt formations. Visitors can explore the underground galleries, admiring salt structures with bizarre shapes and varied colours, as well as lakes with a high salt concentration

Following this immersive underground experience, journey onward to the heart of the Buzau county wine region, where vine-covered hills stretch as far as the eye can see. This area is celebrated for its rich red wines and ancient viticultural roots. Enjoy a guided tour of charming local wineries, where modern craftsmanship meets timeless tradition. Sample a handpicked selection of Romania’s finest wines while soaking in panoramic views and the peaceful ambiance of the vineyards.

As the afternoon sun begins to soften, return to Bucharest, leaving you with a heart full of memories, a taste of Romania’s spirit, and perhaps a bottle or two of wine to take home.
The journey takes approximately 8-10 hours depending on traffic.
