Description

This half-day trip of hiking and paddling on the Wailua River is a must-do activity while on Kauai. With an easy-going voyage in a tandem kayak and a moderate hike to a beautiful waterfall, you can truly appreciate the diversity and stunning beauty of the island, an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.

Enjoy the serene surroundings of the Wailua River as you paddle in a tandem kayak. Your local guides share the rich Hawaiian history and legends of the Wailua River Valley while serenading you with a ukulele or sharing local music. After paddling up the river’s North Fork, begin your moderate 2-mile (3-km) hike through a tropical rainforest.

Make your way along the muddy trail and admire the views of the sacred valley lined with scenic waterways, Hawaiian ruins and native flora and fauna. TC & Kobe were great guides! They gave the group the right amount of information on the history of the land/river/falls and kept the kayak and hike fun and safe.

Our tour guide was amazing- he was super funny and we had a great time. Through the tour, he kept us safe, helped everyone with photos and educated us the entire trip on Hawaiian history and culture. At the end of the tour, he provided us with dinner tips and great local attractions too. Well worth the hike, and trip made!

Rocky was a great guide! The kayak trip up and back was very beautiful. Once we got to the rope where you cross the river on foot to start the hike, he gave great advice how to be careful crossing. It was VERY muddy too. He stopped along the way and told us some history on the island. Great trip and worth the muddy hike to see the Falls. 🤙🏼
