What you can expect
Spend 4 days exploring the magical Australian outback around Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and Alice Springs. Sleep in private campsites and enjoy delicious meals cooked over open fires, as expert guides help you navigate this unforgettable desert landscape.
Day 1: Ayers Rock
Joining us at Ayers Rock Airport or Yulara, this afternoon embark on an interpretive walk at the base of Uluru. The Cultural Centre is impressive and well worth a visit before watching the ever changing colours of Uluru at sunset. After dinner, some stories and stargazing, it’s time for a good night’s rest at our private campsite before another active day tomorrow.
Day 2: Uluru to Kings Creek Station
Wake up to witness a mesmerising Uluru sunrise, taking advantage of the magical quality of morning light in the desert. Take a short drive to Kata Tjuta, an aboriginal word for “many heads.” Explore some of its 36 domes before strapping on your boots and walking through the Valley of the Winds, including a variety of creek beds and desert scenery.
After lunch, say farewell to the national park and travel to Kings Creek Station to spend the night in a private camp.
Day 3: Kings Creek Station to Alice Springs
Enter the Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park, home of a soaring red-rock chasm situated above lush palm forests. Walk around the rim of the canyon to visit the Amphitheatre, Lost City, and the Garden of Eden. Eat lunch and make your way to the outback town of Alice Springs, arriving in the early evening. After days in the wilderness, the town will feel like the big city an you can spend the evening exploring at leisure (unguided)
Day 4: Alice Springs to Ayers Rock
Today we have an early start. Following breakfast we leave Alice Springs and begin our journey to Ayers Rock. With a short stop along the way we will get you and your baggage to Ayers Rock Airport or resort before saying farewell to this magical destination.
