Leave the “Blue City” behind and explore the mountains: immerse yourself in Morocco's spectacular natural landscapes on this two-day trek from Chefchaouen to Akchour.
Day 1:
Start of trekking, today's trek will be Chefchaouen - Azilane (7 hours), through the upper valley of Tissouka. Cedars, junipers, and endemic if trees. Views of the natural park of Bouhachem and surrounding villages. A picnic to rest and recharge your strength after 3 hours of trekking. After the stop we will go down to the village of Afeska to continue to our rural Gite in Azilane. They will be waiting for us with a local tea with medicinal plants. Accommodation at the rural house.

Day 2: Azilane - God's bridge - Chefchaouen
The tour will begin with a path that runs at the foot of Jbel Abdoun through a splendid forest of cedars and pines. The geological formations there are spectacular and the forest is beautiful. With a pinch of luck you can observe monkeys that populate this area.

Place Outa el Hammam
The central square of Chefchaouen is full of restaurants at a good price for lunch or dinner. It is a fairly large square where there is plenty of life. In this square is the Kasbah (fortress) and the first mosque of the city.
Chefchaouen Cemetery
Small and quiet, the Chefchaouen Cemetery points to the remnants of a once vibrant culture. Visitors may notice that many of the tombs have inscriptions written in Arabic
Kasbah Museum
The kasbah is a heavily restored walled fortress that now contains a lovely garden, a small ethnographic museum, and an even smaller art gallery. The ethnographic museum contains some fascinating views of old Chefchaouen, including the plaza and the kasbah; the gallery promotes the work of local artists. The views from the kasbah tower over the medina are a delight.
Grand Mosque
Constructed in the 15th century, Chefchaouen’s Grande Mosque was built on the orders of Moulay Mohamed Ben Ali Ben Rachid, the son of the city’s founder. It features an octagonal minaret, which is somewhat unusual when compared to the many square minarets that generally tower over the nation’s myriad mosques. The shape was influenced by Andalusian styles, brought to the country by Muslims from Spain. Built from stone, the shades of brown and beige are juxtaposed against the nearby blue and white buildings. Admiring the mosque is among the top things to do in the city. Do note that non-Muslim visitors are not permitted to enter the mosque.
