From Pasties to Golf Pars: Bachelor Party Ideas in Tampa
Before celebrating your commitment at the wedding ceremony, there should be at least one night celebrating your bro-mance with your best buds. Unwind, let loose, and do a few things that may or may not belong on Facebook. Tampa is one of the most popular spots in the U.S. to have a wild time. Thanks to the hot climate throughout much of the year, the unbeatable nightlife, proximity to stunning beaches, and great sporting events, Tampa is a fantastic choice for a bachelor party. Here are just a few of the top ways to say, “woo-hoo” before saying “I do.”
Tee Off Before You’re Tied Down
If your father-in-law is joining you, a breakfast buffet at the strip club might not be the best choice for the start of a bachelor party. Instead, a day on the green can be a relaxing way to hang out and soak up the sun before a night of fun. Thanks to the warm climate in Tampa, there are very few days in the year when golfing isn’t a possibility. Play as foursomes, and rank the group according to their skills so that everyone is evenly matched. Be sure to reserve golf carts for extra comfort, and find out if coolers are allowed on the course or if beverage carts make frequent rounds of the greens. If you can afford to splurge a little, consider booking up the time slots just before and after your group as well. This ensures that you have plenty of privacy, and you won’t have to censor your jokes in between swings.
Feel Like a Big Shot in the Stands
Nothing gets men more pumped than beer, hot dogs, and cheering for whatever team has the ball. If you are a football fan, try to snag tickets to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. The Buccaneers play at the Raymond James Stadium, right in the heart of Tampa, and tickets are generally available a few months in advance. If you will be in Tampa over the winter or spring season, consider getting tickets to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning, the NHL’s 2004 Stanley Cup winner. If you’re a baseball fan, you’ll have lots of options throughout the year. During spring training, the New York Yankees practice and play in Tampa, and the Detroit Tigers play just an hour away in Lakeland, Florida. Blew all your money on chips and drinks the night before? Then catch more affordable local teams like Tampa Bay Rays or Tampa Yankees instead.
There’s Plenty of Fish in the Sea (Literally)
Before you make it official with that one special person, string along the rest of the fish in the sea in Tampa–literally. One of the most popular ways to spend the day with friends at a bachelor event is to charter a boat and head out to sea. Boats are available for half-day or full-day charters, and most include all of the equipment you’ll need for fishing as well as sodas, beer, and barbecue lunches. All of these extra amenities turn the boat into a floating party, so even if you don’t like fishing, you’ll have an amazing time at sea.
Catch the Sunrise from Ybor City
No bachelor party would be complete without watching the sunrise from Ybor City, preferably after a long night of shots, terrible dancing, and reminiscing about events that will hopefully be left out of the best man’s speech. Ybor City is the place to go in Tampa for nightlife, and is home to numerous bars and clubs. Whether you want a laid-back dive bar, a gastropub that brews its own craft beer, or a nightclub that heats up at midnight and stays open until sunrise, you’ll find it in Ybor City. There are several gentleman’s clubs in and around Ybor City too, but you may want to stick with the gastropubs to avoid the wrath of your future wife.
Whether your idea of a good time is on the golf course, on a party boat, or at a dive bar downtown with your best buds, Tampa is the hottest place to celebrate a bachelor party.
What are you most looking forward to during your bachelor party?
