Four Seasons:  The flagship of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts chain is an artistic addition to the Toronto hotel landscape. Trump International Hotel & Tower  From it’s perch on the corner of Adelaide and Bay, the Trump is well-positioned for the downtown corner-office crowd. There’s no loitering in the lobby here. Clientele of a certain level will use special entrances meant to keep their private lives private. But pull up for drinks at The Calvin bar or head up to the America Restaurant on the 31st floor and you’ll find the company you’re after. The seclusion is a selling point. Rooms are equipped with all you’ll need to feel pampered and entertained including bathrooms with soaker tubs, rainshowers and tvs in the mirror.  Don’t Miss:   The Trump Pets program means you don’t have to put off your luxurious weekend because you can’t imagine leaving Fido behind. Pets get the pampering treatment too.

Shangri La – The rooms at this Asian-inspired hotel are stunning but staying in them for your entire stay would be a mistake. The Lobby Lounge in this hotel at the foot of the Financial district is a who’s-who of the city’s movers and shakers and a popular  spot for visiting celebs.  Though you’ll meet other guests in the elevators, don’t be surprised if many of the people you introduce yourself to are local. With Bosk restaurant  and a spa that takes the Asian influence to pleasing heights on site, guests come from near and far to sample. Don’t Miss:  Next door the multi-floor Momofuku complex offers savoury bites. The confetti cookies at Momofuku Milk Bar are legendary.
