Gruinard Island Pet-friendly Vacations

Overall we had an excellent stay. The hotel is a little disappointing from the street but once inside things are greatly improved. The rooms in particular were spotless and must have been recently renovated. Our only area for improvement would be shelves in the (excellent) bathrooms to store toiletries. Breakfast was good and the evening meal was good quality if a little limited. The main plus point were the excellent, efficient and cheerful staff who we commend.

Stunning location, hotel and staff. Lots of stairs and a long walk to the rooms if you have any mobility challenges but otherwise really lovely.

A fantastic apartment in a great location with a stunning view of the river. Couldn’t have asked for more(other than air conditioning;)).

Very tired old property. When they showed us the room it first reminded me of one of the servant quarters in a recent historic house tour. We booked a classic double. The room was damp, full of dusty furniture and the bed mattress springs were gone. There was a tiny window with a view to nothing. We lasted 10 mins and left. The manager gave us lots of options, one being the same room type and the other being the front door with just an apology and no refund offered. First time I ever left a property because of the condition but it was our final night in Scotland and I wanted somewhere special. This wasn’t it. It’s 2 star accommodation for 4 star prices. Didn’t stay to rate the food but the living room and dining decor seriously needs a makeover for 2026. It’s not 1926!

It was a basic place. No frills. No real reason to stay there again. Not my choice for a return trip. However, unlikely to return to Inverness.

only complaints were water pressure was poor in the shower and it took a long time to get hot, but the room was clean comfortable and very nice. Breakfast was great Other minor complaint was it was about a 10 minute walk into town. Overall I would go back in a heartbeat

Everything was exceptional. The hospitality from Graham and Sheena was second to none. We got lost our first night out and after a quick call, Graham got us back on track and was actually on his way out to find us when we turned up the drive! That is the level of hospitality provided. Breakfast was delectable! Fresh, buttery croissants, creamy eggs, tasty haggis, sweet fried tomatoes and the tenderest bacon! The beds were so comfortable and the pillows so fluffy!!! The Walker shortbread in the room just cinches the entire package!!! Blervie House is the go too destination during your stay in Scotland!!! Truly wonderful place and amazing hosts. 🥰😍❤️

What a beautifully created small hotel with views to die for. The food, both dinner and breakfast could not be faulted. The staff really made sure we were well looked after. We will definitely be back. One very small suggestion. Due to the very clean and modern lines of the bar and restaurant sound echoes can make it difficult to hear. As we have seen in other restaurants there is the easy solution of sound absorbing panels to mount to the walls/ceiling. These can even be printed with pictures to disguise their purpose and add local interest. Otherwise don't change a thing. It is so near perfect.
