Costa Verde Kid friendly Vacations

I booked a 23-day stay at this hotel because I trusted the Hilton brand. At 56, I had waited my entire life for what was supposed to be a dream vacation, but my experience quickly became upsetting. Within 20 minutes of checking in, I pulled back the covers and found the linens covered in hair. The front desk apologized and moved me, but the second room was worse—the bed had hair and visible stains. After nearly 20 hours of travel, I was too exhausted to deal with another room change. That evening, I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food and service were excellent, but my waiter repeatedly asked for my room number even after I explained I was paying by credit card. His demeanor seemed to change afterward. The next day, I returned for lunch. As I exited the elevator, five men dressed in black were gathered in the lobby, and one gave me an extremely hostile look. Again, my waiter repeatedly asked for my room number despite my saying I would pay by credit card. When I stepped away to take a call, I noticed the same men still watching from the lobby. I became increasingly uncomfortable and felt I was being targeted. I lost my appetite, paid, and left. When I did, all five men immediately got up as though they were following me. What should have been a once-in-a-lifetime vacation instead left me feeling uncomfortable, and unwelcome.

Very consistent experience with the Hilton brand. You expect nice and it is. I will definitely return to this property.

I would have given this property with a 4.5 stars, unfortunately, it’s not an option. Pros: - Check in was smooth, the frontdesk lady was absolutely helpful. She presented everything with clarity and efficiency. She also handed me my VIP access perks which is commendable. In other hotels, it’s either they’re unaware or I needed to remind them of such perks. - Breakfast was a delight and the reception lady was nice and accommodating. - The hotel presentation looks good and the interiors smelled clean. Cons: - One frontdesk personnel

This place will be our go to for future trips to Rio. Ipanema is right across the street from the hotel. We arrived early for check in so they kept our bags while we went to the beach and provided us with chairs/umbrella and towels until our hotel room was ready. The room was facing the beach so we had a view the whole time. Rooms are spacious and clean, Breakfast is amazing and was complimentary. On our way home we had a late flight out they helped us again by holding our bags while we walked around one last time and enjoyed the beach before heading to the airport. I recommend having the hotel book the airport transportation, it is not expensive and saves a lot of hassle when arriving.
