This trip takes you from Huatulco to one of the most cultural and traditional cities within Mexico, Oaxaca.
With stops along the way in San Jose del Pacifico, you will have the opportunity to visit this marvellous small village situated at the peak of one of the tallest mountains in the Sierra Madre range. From this small village, you'll get access to some of the most beautiful views that the country has to offer and gain a new perspective on the area.
After your short stay here, you'll head to San Bartolo Coyotepec, which is known for introducing visitors to countless cultural aspects and activities. You'll learn about black clay pottery and explore the ruins of ancient civilisations to learn more about the history of the area.
You'll then be guided to the church of Santo Domingo, which is not only an ancient place of worship but also home to some of the most brilliant religious artistic works in the world. Spend the night in a local hotel and at daybreak, visit the village marketplace and see the tallest and oldest tree in the city, El Tule, on a nature excursion.
You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Santiago Matatlan, the capital of Mezcal, one of the most complex liquors in the world and a traditional important drink for these region’s ancient cultures, Teotitlan del Valle, a small-town famous for the production of amazing colourful weaving and Montealban, the most important archaeological site in the region.
Along the way, you'll have many opportunities to get souvenirs and gifts for yourself or those back home, before heading back to Huatulco.
