A journey through stone, power and passion to discover the magnificent Torrechiara Castle, one of the most spectacular and best-preserved medieval fortresses in the Parma area.
Perched on the first hills south of Parma, overlooking the Val Parma, the castle was the political and sentimental masterpiece of Count Pier Maria Rossi, a condottiero in the service of the Visconti and Sforza families. But Torrechiara was not only an impregnable fortress: it was also the place dedicated to his great love for Bianca Pellegrini.
During the tour, we will pass through the stone village at the foot of the castle, learn about the history of the ancient House of Rossi, and reach the most precious part of the route: the famous Golden Room, where frescoes and decorations still tell one of the most fascinating love stories of the Italian Renaissance.
An itinerary through history, legends, views and court secrets, in the castle that more than any other combines the strength of war with the delicacy of love.
