What you can expect

  • Discover the highlights of Chania on a shore excursion from the port of Souda. Explore the Agia Triada Tzagaroli Monastery, take a photo stop at Venizelos, and visit the old town of Chania.

Begin your shore excursion when your representative welcomes you at the cruise port. Drive from the port of Souda to the Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) Tzagaroli Monastery. Marvel at the architecture of the monastery, built in the Byzantine cruciform style with three domes.

Find a library with rare books, and a museum that contains a collection of fascinating icons, codices, and more. Purchase local wine and olive oil produced by the monks of the monastery. Continue for a short photo stop in Venizelos, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views over Chania Bay.

Reach the old town, crumbling harbour, and 15th-century lighthouse of Chania Town. Meander through colourful areas and visit important sites such as the Archaeological Museum, the Cathedral, the Leather Lane, the Market Hall, and other hidden gems.

At the end of your shore excursion, return back to the cruise port.
