The “The Merchant's Coin” puzzle tour is no ordinary city tour, but an experience that transforms Regensburg's historic backdrop into a lively playing field.

The focus is on the journey of a mysterious merchant who left behind an unminted coin full of possibilities. Equipped with a specially prepared investigative puzzle backpack full of locked compartments, historically designed puzzle cards and helpful clues, each stop becomes an interactive challenge.
Each puzzle solved unlocks a lock, opens a compartment in the backpack and provides a new impression for the coin. This way, you piece the coin together bit by bit until, in the end, the complete symbol of your journey through Regensburg’s history lies before you.

Another special feature is that the tour works in an analogue way – without a tablet or mobile app. Participants work with tactile materials, real locks and high-quality puzzle cards.
This creates an immediate, authentic experience that challenges the mind, the hands and team spirit in equal measure. The only time a smartphone with mobile data is needed per group is to scan QR codes to make it easier to find the checkpoints and for a fun photo mission.

The route covers some of Regensburg's most iconic landmarks. In the process, you will not only get to know the architecture but also fascinating stories, secrets and anecdotes that often remain hidden in the everyday cityscape.
