Embark on an unforgettable ocean escape to Mnemba Atoll, Zanzibar’s most famous marine conservation area. Known globally for its “aquarium-like” clarity, this private reef offers a sanctuary for vibrant coral gardens, schools of tropical fish, and resident pods of wild dolphins.
Your day starts with a convenient hotel pickup if option selected. We head to the coast early to beat the crowds and enjoy the calmest morning seas. Upon arrival, you’ll board a traditional local boat and cruise across the sparkling Indian Ocean towards the breathtaking turquoise waters surrounding Mnemba Island.
One of the tour highlights is the search for the resident dolphins that call these waters home. Our experienced captains use their intimate knowledge of the area to locate the pods while maintaining a respectful distance. If conditions allow and the dolphins are feeling playful, you may have the once in a lifetime etime opportunity to enter the water for a guided swim nearby.
Note: We follow ethical practices we never chase or disturb the wildlife.
Next, we drop anchor at the reef for a world-class snorkelling session. Dive into the crystal-clear water to explore:
Vibrant coral forests
Clownfish (“Nemo”), Blue-spotted rays, and Starfish
Occasional sightings of green sea turtles
Breathtaking visibility up to 30 metres
After your swim, climb back on board to dry off and relax. We’ll serve a refreshing selection of freshly sliced Zanzibar fruits, including sweet mangos, pineapples, and bananas. Soak in the panoramic views of the white-sand beaches and the deep blue horizon as we cruise back to shore.
Access to the beach on Mnemba Island itself is restricted (private resort); snorkelling takes place in the protected reef waters surrounding the island.
