Located within the Seto Inland Sea National Park, this is one of Japan's three great valleys. The ropeway that connects the summit and base of the mountain is popular as it is the only one in Japan where you can see the sky, sea, and valley all at once. We will take you to the summit of Kankakei by bus, after which you can enjoy sightseeing and lunch on your own. The ropeway is a one-way trip from the summit to the base of the mountain (Kountei Station). (Ropeway passenger fare included) Please return to the bus at Kountei Station. The bus will then travel from the summit to the base of the mountain (Kountei Station) and head to the next tourist spot. *Please be careful as there are approximately 70 steps from Kankakei Ropeway Kouun Station. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to those with mobility issues, but we ask that you please be careful.

The set used in the filming of the 1987 film is used here, and once inside, the world of the Showa era unfolds before your eyes. At the back of the village is the Cape Branch School used in the filming, and the calm Seto Inland Sea can be seen from there, filling the classroom windows. Takesan Memorial Hall, Shodoshima Tsukudani no Sato Ittoku-an You can see the history of the development of Shodoshima's soya sauce and tsukudani through videos and panel displays. With olive fields, herb gardens, Greek windmills, and the Seto Inland Sea and Uchiumi Bay below, it feels like the Mediterranean Sea. Angel Road is a sand road that appears from the sea at low tide twice a day. It is said that if you cross it while holding hands with a loved one, your wish will come true. (View from the train window. You can get off along the way.)
