During this workshop participants will discover the fascinating world of olive oil through an accessible and user-friendly introduction. The experience begins with a presentation of the production process, from olive harvesting to oil extraction, in order to better understand what makes the quality of an extra virgin olive oil. Visitors will then explore the major producing countries of the Mediterranean basin, their traditions, as well as the main olive varieties and their unique aromatic profiles. The workshop will also discuss the culinary uses of olive oil: how to choose it, associate it with dishes, taste it and recognise its qualities. Finally, participants will take part in a guided tasting of 5 carefully selected olive oils, with an introduction to professional tasting techniques to learn to identify the aromas, bitterness, ardency and specificities of each terroir.
