You’ll spend an exciting day in Fukuoka with one of our hosts as you explore Japan’s gateway to Asia together. Maybe you’d like to take in some of the city’s main sites, like Fukuoka Castle or Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, before following your feet to some obscure area and making it your own. Wander through the underground malls for your shopping fix, or head above ground (way above) to the ACROS Building, to see a spectacular rooftop garden and stunning views of the neon cityscape - it’s your call. All we’d say is that no day in Fukuoka would be complete without taking some time out to enjoy a meal at a yakai (street food stand) serving all sorts of Japanese treats. This phenomenon is unique to the city, and of course, we’d recommend the Hakata ramen, because well, it’s simply the best.

Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place.
