Take a short break from Marrakech and explore the coastal city of Essaouira or Mogador as it was called by the Portuguese. Your local driver will pick you up from your accommodation at a desired time and you will set out for a pleasant trip in a comfortable, private vehicle.
When on the road, your Welcomer will also serve as your local guide who will share the historical facts, the necessary information about the sights and, of course, his personal input in order to immerse you into the Moroccan lifestyle. The ride is totally private and personalised, meaning that, together with your driver, you can choose which of the suggested stops you wish to make and the time to allocate to each one. Add or remove stops from the suggested itinerary and customise the ride according to your preferences. Take pictures, ask your driver about hidden gems or recommendations about local delights and where to taste them.
After a 2.5 hour drive, you will arrive at your destination and start exploring the narrow streets of the Marrakech / Starting Point and its crowded Souks, filled with both locals and tourists who do their shopping. Next stop is the main square of the city, the Medina where you can enjoy a cup of mint tea as the ocean breeze is blowing on your face.
Continuing, you will admire the most impressive landmark of Essaouira, the Moulay Hassan Square with the impressive fortification. Stroll along the Harbour Scala or Scala du Port and witness first-hand the fishing boats coming in and the fishermen unloading their catch. You cannot leave the citadel without making a stop to appreciate its massive Citadel on which the waves of the Atlantic ocean crash and take pictures of the row of cannons that stand on the ramparts as a reminder of another era.
Finally, your driver can leave you to the famous Walls, along, sandy beach where you can take a dive if the weather is hot or just lay back and enjoy the magnificent sunset. At the end of your trip, your friendly Welcome Driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
