The staff was exceptional and the time of year we went was amazing

Love love love this place!!!!

The resort was beautiful and very well kept, both the grounds (including beach and pool area), and the rooms! Maid service everyday with fresh towels, trash disposal, made beds, filling up water jugs, sweep, mop… the works! We stayed in a two bedroom ocean view suite and it was perfect for our family of 4. The full kitchen was a great option for cooking a few dinners when we didn’t want to go out. The restaurant Casa De Maize was delicious, everything we tried was amazing! The staff is SO friendly and accommodating as well! You can tell that everyone who works there takes pride in their job and wants everyone to have a great experience! They can arrange shuttle rides into town, or to the store for a small fee, or there is a free daily shuttle that goes into Placencia as well. The swim up bar is a fun option for drinks, or you can make your own and bring them to the pool ( just bring a yeti cup). The pool is right on the beach and they work hard to keep it in good shape. There was seaweed while we were there, but they do their best to keep it to a minimum on the shore. The lagoon side is really beautiful as well (that is where the restaurant is) my son bought a fishing pole in town and enjoyed fishing off the dock there and the pier on the ocean side. There is also a little fire roasted pizza place by the pool to get food as well. You can charge things to your room which is nice. All in all we had an awesome time at the Umaya resort and would highly recommend staying here!!!!

We had a nice stay at CoCo Beach. Everything was great. Clean. Well managed. My only gripe were the doors and the locking mechanisms. It was so hard to unlock and the doors from the latch and the same with the keys. We just could never get it on the first try. I do want to give HUGE accolades to our Snorkeling Captain/Guide, T-Rex. I truly hope he will get praise from this review. He was absolutely AHHHHHHMAAAAZING. He was a great boat captain. He was an exxxxxceptional snorkel guide. This man loves his country, loves his job, and looooooves the wonders of the deep sea. He was so patient (as one of us was not a strong swimmer), he was so informative about every fish. He loves his job and it shows. THANK YOU T-REX!

This resort was one of the best ones we’ve ever been to! The staff was amazing. The rooms were beautiful. And all the amenities, excursions, and especially the town of Hopkins was top tier. Definitely plan a vacation here if you’re thinking of visiting Belize.

Lovely stay at Matachica. Great staff and amenities. Only negative would be the sargassum which is out of their control. Shuttle to secret beach made up for it though
