The view from the balcony is magnificent. It is like watching a movie "Matterhorn" from the VIP seats. It is located very close to the Matterhorn Express station. It’s got lots of charm (the decor is very traditional, a little bit “tired” looking but cute) and it is very clean in the most important ways (bathroom, linens, general spaces. Unfortunately, I didn’t like how dirty the carpeting is, so if you’re like me and get grossed out by that, bring slippers! Breakfast was amazing and some tables have a view of the Matterhorn. Very accommodating and very pleasant. The rooms with a view of the Matterhorn are awesome. Yes, it’s somewhat old but it’s very charming, clean, nice bed, all is working great in the room and spacious for europe’s standard. There was no AC which we didn’t realize but it was on the 40s-50s at night so did not need one. Very quiet and about 10-15min walk from the center. It’s next to the glacier paradice cable station if you need it. The hotel did not provide shuttle service. That was the only negative. The front desk, Marta (?) was so nice and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic!!! There were so many options and the staff was so friendly. The view of Matterhorn just can’t be beat. Also, there is a spa that has individual jacuzzis and warm stone loungers which were wonderful after long hikes. The hotel was in overall clean condition and a decent value. We we lucky and had a great view of the Matterhorn from our room. The morning breakfast was also quite good. We liked the location near the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise aerial cable car. The only negative is that the hotel clearly hasn’t had a refresh/update in quite a number of years. The location to the main gondola was fantastic - was a 30 second walk which made life so easy. They have a ski locker room with boot warmers which was a great touch. Breakfast was really good, has a cool bar, and all the staff were so accommodating. The building was older with a small lift that was tight for 3 people and luggage but quaint and added to character of place. The concierge, Dan, was exceptionally helpful and offered great advice and direction. His service and knowledge made the stay extremely successful and enjoyable. L'hôtel fait un peu "vieillot", mais la chambre avec vue sur le Cervin est vraiment agréable. Les 2 seuls "bémols": le store ne fonctionnait pas, mais ne n'était pas grave car il y a le rideau, et la pression de l'eau pour la douche n'est pas très forte. Du choix pour le (petit-) déjeuner et le personnel aux petits soins!
