We've had a lovely time here, the staff was so kind and helpfull. The room was comfy and lovely. The inn is close to the city center, we did everything by foot. Ma chambre avait été réservée par d’autres personnes qui sont entrées avec la clé pendant que j’étais dans la chambre. Le problème a été réglé rapidement par un membre du personnel et le couple s’est vu offrir une autre chambre. La deuxième nuit, quelqu’un est venu frappé dans la porte pendant que je dormais. Et finalement, on m’a facturé une 3e nuit alors que j’avais réservé seulement 2 nuits. Michael and his wife were the perfect hosts providing a lovely accommodation. We stayed in room 11 which was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and with all ammenities. The dining and bar areas were great and very clean. As room 11 in on the ground floor and street side you will get traffic noise throughout the night but otherwise very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh and plenty of variety. Parking was convenient and location to the old town excellent. Not a deal breaker, the owners & staff are helpful. Very nice owners and we liked the location -- just a short walk to downtown or the train station. We did not take the breakfast, but it looked very good. The only consideration is if you have limited mobility and get the room we had on the top floor, there is no lift or elevator. Slight issue with the toilet flush, but was rectified. Approx 15 min walk into central York. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Room was quiet, bed was v comfortable. We stayed in room 10 - a family room.
