Escape to Sunbeam Cottage, a spacious holiday cottage bating back to the 1700s nestled in the picturesque village of Lythe. This delightful property with character features offers a perfect blend of comfort and tranquillity, ideal for families and friends seeking a relaxing getaway. Enjoy the warmth of an indoor fireplace and prepare delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. With three bedrooms, it comfortably accommodates up to six guests.  
  
The Space:  
  
Step back in time with a stay at this characterful terraced cottage, dating back to the 1700s, nestled in the picturesque village of Lythe within the North York Moors National Park. Set in a conservation area and just three-quarters of a mile from the golden sands of Sandsend, you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy coastal walks, traditional inns, cosy tea rooms, and irresistible ice cream parlours.  
  
Inside, the cottage blends rustic charm with modern comforts. On the first floor you’ll find two bedrooms - a welcoming double and a cosy bunk room - alongside a family bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a toilet.   
  
The second floor reveals a delightful double bedroom with its own seating area, where the bed is accessed from one side and ideal for one adult or for a snug two-person stay.  
  
With underfloor heating on the ground level and radiators upstairs, the cottage stays warm and inviting all year round - a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the moors, the coastline, or simply the timeless beauty of North Yorkshire.

Access to Sunbeam Cottage is via a key safe box. Further details will be provided prior to check-in.  
  
Free parking is available around Lythe on a first come, first served basis.  
  
Please note that young children should be supervised at all times due to the steepness and open-plan nature of the stairs.

Nestled on the cliffs above the North Yorkshire coast, Lythe is a charming village that perfectly blends rural tranquillity with easy access to the seaside. Just a short drive or scenic walk from Whitby, this picturesque village offers a peaceful retreat while keeping you close to the area’s most loved attractions including Runswick Bay, Mulgrave Estate & Gardens, and the Cleveland Way.  
  
Wander through winding lanes lined with traditional stone cottages, explore the historic St. Oswald’s Church, or stop at the friendly community-run shop and cafe for a warm Yorkshire welcome.  
  
Nature lovers will enjoy nearby woodland walks and breathtaking views across the dramatic coastline, while the wide sandy beach at Sandsend- just down the hill - is perfect for families, walkers, and surfers alike.  
  
From Lythe, you can easily explore the North York Moors National Park, with its heather-covered hills and walking trails, or take a short trip into Whitby for its bustling harbour, independent shops, and famous Abbey. Getting Around:  
  
Sunbeam Cottage is a short 10 - 15 minute drive from Whitby Train Station where direct services can be found operating to Billingham, Blaydon, Hartlepool, Hexham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, Prudhoe, Seaham, Stockton-on-Tees, Sunderland and Thornaby-on-Tees.  
  
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway also operates from Whitby Train Station. Hop on board to take a scenic trip to the market town of Pickering, as well as the peaceful countryside villages of Goathland, Grosmont and Levisham.  
  
The X4 bus route which runs through Lythe offers access to Loftus, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Whitby.
