Boasting incredible sea views. Sand & Surf is a recently renovated apartment sleeping up to six guests across three beautiful styled bedrooms. It is conveniently located on the seafront of Whitby’s West Cliff in a central location for beach, harbour and shops. This apartment is perfect for those looking for a relaxing retreat by the sea and will provide memories to treasure for a lifetime. The Space: Sand & Surf is a well designed, first floor apartment with everything you could need for a self-catering staycation in Whitby. Ultra stylish and modern, it features an open plan kitchen, living and dining area where you can relax, socialise and get lost in the stunning sea views. The apartment boasts three gorgeous bedrooms with king size beds. The master bedroom features an ensuite shower room, a large bay window with views of the sea and a flat screen TV. Similar in style, the second and third bedrooms have premium soft furnishings and the highest standard of finish. Featuring marble look tiles, a bathtub and a separate walk in shower, the bathroom at Sand & Surf is modern and stylish. A WC and basin complete the space. Guest Access: Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. Pay & display parking can be found nearby, and full details will be sent to you before check in. Please note we do not accept bookings for stag / hen parties and same sex groups. The Neighborhood: Sand & Surf is located on the West Cliff just off the North Terrace so you can expect beautiful sea views. The Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade is just a short stroll from the apartment and on Pier Road, you’ll find fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants where you can sample the catch of the day. The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks. Getting Around: Sand & Surf is located in the centre of Whitby so the town can easily be explored on foot. Whitby train station is just a short 15-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station. There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm. Beautiful view and close to the sea and the harbour, both sides of Whitby. Few niggles - bathroom fan not working, wrong WiFi code sent and the one in the flat impossible to read; hard to use dining table as not enough room round it and benches very unstable. Blind cords so short that once they were closed you couldn’t possibly reach the cord to open them again. The views are stunning, the bathrooms are modern, and the location is perfect to enjoy Whitby. However, there are a few incidents about the host support that prevent a fully positive rating. Most significantly, we had a very negative check in experience, whereby we were given instructions to access the key to the apartment. The problem was the key would not open the door. It turns out the wrong key was placed in the lock box. This is an honest mistake, however, the support to address this was non existent. We were unable to get anyone to help resolve this simple issue for about 2 hours. This impacted our first evening in Whitby significantly and added much unnecessary stress. We were also not provided any compensation for this very bad service. Second issue is the carpet upon entering the apartment was stained in two places. In spite of stairs with two young children it was a really well kept apartment and can’t speak highly enough of it’s location.
