Old Salt Loft

  • Old Salt Loft is perfectly located right in the heart of the popular seaside town of Whitby. It is a stylishly decorated, duplex apartment set over the first and second floors with easy access from Hunter Street and provides the perfect base from which to enjoy the local town, beaches and

    attractions. Nearby Skinner Street provides ample bars, eateries and shopping opportunities, with the famous Botham’s Bakery and tearoom only 2 minutes away.



    Walking up the stairs to the first floor and into the apartment, guests will find a cosy yet spacious living room with two large comfortable sofas and TV. The kitchen diner is located off the living room and is well equipped with everything you'd require for a self-catering stay. The twin bedroom can also be found on this floor.



    The master bedroom is located on the second floor, next door to which is the shower room. Guests will not be short of options whilst on holiday in Whitby - steeped in history, there are many visitor attractions and events for guests to explore. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, and the Dracula Experience near the harbour are popular options while a trip to Whitby would not be the same without climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey and exploring the beautiful ruins which tower over the town.



    Many flock to Whitby for its boutique shops and quirky streets. The town is also home to several annual events including the Whitby Goth and Steampunk weekends, the Regatta, and the annual Whitby Folk Festival.

What can i say i have negative comments at all, the apartment was exceptionally clean, in the perfect location, the decor was beautiful, everything you could ever need provided including tea, coffee, coffee pods, sugar, salt, vinegar, fresh milk, hairdryers, body wash etc. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Fresh, coastal decor. Very comfortable beds. Small, but well equipped kitchen. Absolutely perfect location. Lack of car park space, but I believe it’s a common problem for the location. There’s a car park near by, but beware of timings.

Beautifully decorated with a calming colour palette

Spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. All mod cons. Great location with bars, restaurants and shops right outside but peaceful and quiet. No parking but car parking available a few minutes walk away so not a major issue.

This was our second stay in the property and it was just as perfect as the first one. We love that the property is central, but feels peaceful, calm and private the minute you step inside. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and everything thought of. We can’t fault it and it has become part of our Whitby experience. We liked it all.

Totally enjoyed our stay at The Old Salt Loft

Very comfortable & extremely clean & well equipped. Perfect location, just a short walk into the main centre(about 5 mins) but far enough away to be nice & quiet. Nicely decorated for Christmas & New Year. Essentials - tea, coffee, milk & biscuits & of course loo roll provided until you can get to the shops. Also a big thank you to the lovely lady Mel who was extremely helpful & kind when we arrived. Nothing - everything was perfect.

A super base for a lovely break in Whitby.

We enjoyed staying in the town so we could walk to everything we wanted to visit. The apartment was comforable and was beatifully decorated and resourced. Our preference is for a firmer bed and pillows so we didnt sleep particularly well. The door was locked to the other bedroom which was surprising because we understood we were hiring the whole apartment. Had we been able to access the other bedroom we might have found those beds and pillows more to our liking.
